Fashion houses like Prada, Gucci, Adidas, and Tag Heuer, as well as entertainment, gaming, and museums, are all exploring NFTs.

These brands reach millions of users, many without crypto knowledge. Onboarding challenges include:

Creating a wallet and private key.
Buying cryptocurrency.

While e-commerce makes card payments simple, crypto onboarding remains complex.

Web3 projects like Renaissance help brands integrate tools like Gelato for smoother onboarding.

Renault NFT Use Case

On December 15th, 2022, Renault launched the R3NLT NFT collection. The 1972 NFTs sold out in just 48 hours thanks to Renaissance integrating Gelato.

Renault made the experience seamless, allowing users to pay with credit cards, even without web3 experience.

User Onboarding

Renault used Discord to communicate with users and published tutorials to teach them how to create MetaMask wallets.

They also integrated web3Auth, allowing users to log in with social accounts. With Torus Wallet, they authenticated users without requiring wallet creation.

The user experience was rounded off by enabling credit card payments for NFT minting.

Stripe & Gelato

Renault integrated Stripe and Gelato Relay under the hood. Stripe handled card payments, while Gelato Relay forwarded NFT minting transactions on-chain.

Users only needed a wallet to sign the request and receive NFTs.
