TL;DR
Developers can now apply custom revenue margins to any user transaction
Zero code changes required for existing Gelato Paymaster/Bundler users. Configure policies directly from the dashboard
Weekly automated USDC payouts simplify inventory management
Available today on Arbitrum, Base, Ethereum, and Ink
The Problem
Many Web3 protocols face the same problem: generating sustainable revenue. Complex tokenomics create friction. Governance tokens dilute value. Traditional fee structures drive users away.
Developers need a way to capture revenue that is both simple to implement and seamless for users.
That's why we built monetization directly into our Paymaster and Bundler, allowing developers to add a configurable revenue layer at the transaction level.
What You Can Do
With transaction monetization enabled, developers can:
Set margins by chain – Define and adjust revenue percentages across supported chains
Accept any token as payment – No token restrictions or allowlists required
Receive weekly USDC payouts – All revenue is automatically converted and deposited to your Gas Tank
Track earnings in real-time – View daily revenue breakdown by token and chain
Update margins instantly – Adjust pricing strategies without touching code
How It Works
The implementation is straightforward:
User Pays in Any Token: When a transaction is initiated, your revenue margin is automatically applied.
Margin Added to Gas Fee: For example, on a $1 gas fee with 5% revenue margin, the user pays $1.05.
Automated Conversion: Once per week, accumulated fees are automatically converted into USDC.
Gas Tank Deposit: Converted USDC is deposited to your Gas Tank, ready for withdrawal or to fund sponsored transactions.
Developer Integration
For Paymaster and Bundler users, getting started requires no code changes:
Navigate to API Key → Policies → Gas Revenue Policy in the Gelato dashboard
Select your target network
Set your revenue percentage
Save and deploy
Margins take effect immediately. Earnings can be monitored under Gas Tank → Analytics → Gas Revenue Earnings.
Who Monetization Is For
Transaction monetization is designed for:
High-volume applications seeking sustainable unit economics
Consumer apps that want to subsidize onboarding while maintaining margins
DeFi protocols looking to offset gas sponsorship costs
Gaming platforms that process thousands of daily transactions
Why It Matters
This release addresses a long-standing challenge in Web3: building profitable protocols without relying on complex token models or extractive fee structures.
By automating collection, conversion, and settlement, Gelato removes the operational burden of implementing fee models. Developers can maintain healthy unit economics while focusing on product and user experience.
Getting Started
Transaction monetization is supported today on Arbitrum, Base, Ethereum, and Ink.
